Take a Tour of Club Penguin!

If you're new to Club Penguin, it will take you a little while to get to know where everything is. A good way to get started is to explore! You have a map of Club Penguin in the bottom left corner of your screen at all times, all you have to do is click on a location and the map will take you there.

Town
The Town is one of the most popular places in Club Penguin. You can relax with friends at the Coffee Shop, get your groove on at the Dance Club or work on your look at the Gift Shop.

Plaza
Another busy room is the Plaza. Here you can buy a puffle at the Pet Shop, act in a play at the Stage, have a restaurant experience at the Pizza Parlour, or jump down the manhole to explore the Underground.

Ski Hill
Whether you want to race your friends or earn some coins, Sled Racing is a great game that is loved by everyone. You can choose from four different tracks all with different difficulties.

Ski Village
The Ski Village is normally a much quieter part of Club Penguin, from here you can take a guided tour of the island, drop into the Ski Lodge for a game of Find Four, or drop into the Winter Sports shop to gear up for your favourite sport.

Beach
The Lighthouse is most certainly the star attraction of the Beach, with it's live music and Jet Pack Adventure upstairs it's certainly a cool place to hang out. But if playing in the snow or sitting in a deck chair for a while is more your style, the Beach can cater for you too. When Rockhopper comes for a visit this is where he docks.

Dock
While the Dock may seem a bit empty, it is full of activity. Often the whole room is full of penguins for no apparent reason! If you love water sports, climb into the speed boat down the bottom and see how long you can last in Hydro Hopper.

Snow Forts
If you love a good snowball fight then the Snow Forts is the place for you! There's never a shortage of penguin ready for a good fight and the Clock Tower will help you keep track of time.

Soccer Pitch
The Soccer Pitch, or sometimes the Ice Rink, is the place to go if you love to kick around a ball. Get together a team or cheer in the grandstands, whatever you do you're sure to have a great time.

Forest
Usually quite a solitary place, the Forest is a great place to hide when playing with your friends. But when Club Penguin has a party the Forest is decorated to the max!

Cove
If you love telling stories by the fire, going for a swim in the shallows or showing off your surf moves in Catchin' Waves, then the Cove has got everything for you!

Iceberg
Hidden in the clouds, the Iceberg is a mysterious place. Here you can go diving for treasure in the Aqua Grabber or watch fireworks at special events

Mine Shack
Not a very popular place, the Mine Shack is a great place to explore with friends. If you wander into the shack you will find yourself in the Underground where you can play Cart Surfer or go for a swim.

Dojo
High in the mountains, the Dojo is a place for training and peace. Learn the ancient art of Card-Jitsu, rise up through the ranks, and see if you have what it takes to become a ninja.

What are Puffles and How do I get One?

What Are Puffles?

Puffles are the fluffy colourful balls of fun, native to Club Penguin that we keep as pets. Often you will see penguins taking their puffles for a walk.

Why Should I Get One?

Puffles make a lovely addition to any igloo, they have big characters and some will even come along with you when you play a mini game. Puffles are fun to take care of and you'll never come home to an empty igloo if you have one.

How Do I Get a Puffle?

All puffles cost 800 coins, so before you can think about buying one you need to earn a bit of money. The mini game Puffle Roundup in the Pet Shop is a quick on easy way to make money so why not give it a go. Once you have earned 800 coins you can go to the Pet Shop and buy a puffle. you can do this by walking up to the pen of puffles or by clicking on the red Pets catalog.

What's the Treasure Book?

The Treasure Book is a special catalog in Club Penguin that you can only get items from if you have a Club Penguin coin code. Coin codes come with Club penguin toys, such as puffles and figures. If you have a coin code you will be able to unlock two items from whichever treasure book your code unlocks.

To unlock the Treasure Book you need to click the unlock items online icon that appears on the home page, or log on as the penguin you wish to get the items for then when you are asked to select a server click the icon. Remember you can only pick two items so choose wisely.

Where are the Hidden Emotes?

There are some emotes that aren't in your emoticon options. That's because these emoticons are hidden as shortcuts in your keyboard! For the shortcuts to work your curser mustn't be in the chat bar, you can get it out of the chat bar by clicking pretty much anything.

There are three different types of keyboard shortcuts: action, speech, emote. To do an action or speech shortcut, you simply press the key for that shortcut. But to do a keyboard emote you must press 'e' and then the keyboard shortcut for the emote you want.

The picture below shows in blue and green the speech and action shortcuts, and with a yellow border the emote shortcuts. Below the keyboard are pictures of hidden emotes.

Where Do I Find the Free Friendship Bracelet?

To get your free friendship bracelet all you have to do is go to the Book Room which is upstairs from the Coffee Shop and click on the bookcase or the Tales and Stories book in the bottom right corner of your screen. You will now be looking at a few shelves filled with books.

In the top left corner you will see that the first book is a light blue book titles 'Rockhopper and the Stowaway'. Click on the book to read it, then click on the bottome right corner of each page until you reach the very last page. You will see the words 'The End', and below them is a colourful band. Click on the friendship bracelet and pick it up!

Where Do I Get a Key for Rockhopper's Boat?

To get into the Captain's Quarters on Rockhopper's boat the Migrator, you will need a key. To get this key simply go to the Book Room, which is upstairs from the Coffee Shop and click on the bookcase or the book in the bottom right corner of your screen. You should now be looking at a couple shelves of books.

The key can be found in 'The Journal of Captain Rockhopper' just click on the book to read it. Open it by clicking on the bottom right corner of the book, from the Contents select 'Newest Writin'' then turn two pages ahead and you will see a key. Click the key, pick it up, now you can get into Rockhopper's Quarters and play Treasure Hunt!

Where Can I Buy Clothes and Other Stuff?

There are several catalogs around Club Penguin where you can buy clothes, furniture and pets. Below you will find all the catalogs in Club Penguin, what's in them and where to find them.

Penguin Style

The Penguin Style catalog can be found in the Gift Shop, it is updated every month and you can buy colours, clothes and backgrounds from it.

Snow and Sports

The Snow and Sports catalog can be found in the Winter Sports Shop, it is updated every three months and you can buy sports clothes and furniture from it.

Costume Trunk

The Costume Trunk catalog can be found at the Stage, it is updated every time a new play comes out and you can buy costumes for the play from it.

The F.I.S.H.

The Factual Information Spy Handbook can be found in HQ, you must be a secret agent to get there, you can buy spy gear from it.

Martial Artworks

The Martial Artworks ninja catalog can be found in the Ninja Hideout, you must be a ninja to access it and you can buy special ninja clothes and furniture from it.

Pets

The Pets catalogs can be found in the Pet Shop, the orange one contains lots of pet furniture for your puffles to play with and the red one is where you can purchase a puffle from.

Better Igloos

The Better Igloos catalog can be found by editing your igloo, it is updated on the first Friday of every month and you can buy all kinds of furniture from it.

Igloo Upgrades

The Igloo Upgrades catalog can be found by editing your igloo, it is updated bimonthly and you can buy igloos and flooring from it.

Game Catalogs

Game Catalogs can be found in rooms that have games with upgrades, these rooms are Ski Hill, Ski Lodge, Dock, Dance Club and Cove. You can buy game upgrades from them.

What's a Membership and Should I Get One?

What's a Membership?

Ok so you've joined Club Penguin, that means your a member right? Wrong. Membership is an extra option in Club Penguin that will allow you to do cool things like buy clothes, get into backstage rooms at parties, decorate you igloo and buy heaps of puffles.

So why isn't everyone a member? Well there's a catch, to be a member you have to pay. Seem unfair? Well think about it this way; Club Penguin is run by a team of people who make new rooms, decorate the place for parties and keep Club Penguin running smoothly. Now these people need to get paid and there are two ways to do this, they can either fill up Club Penguin with heaps of advertisements or they can keep some special things in Club Penguin for people who pay.

Should I Become a Member?

If you simply can't survive without having an awesome outfit and a really cool igloo, then you might find you enjoy Club penguin better when you have a membership. But if showing off all your cool stuff to your friends isn't such a biggy there's no need to get one. There are heaps of penguins who play Club Penguin without memberships, I'm one of them and even I have a pretty cool outfit. Club Penguin gives out free clothing items at parties, so you won't be totally nude, and if you want a couple clothing items there's always the Treasure Book.

Becoming a member is totally up to you, everyone is equal on Club Penguin and becoming a member doesn't make you any better than anyone else. But if you want to experience Club Penguin to the max, maybe a membership is for you.

What's a Special Penguin?

Club Penguin has several special penguins, who are like Club Penguin celebrities. They sometimes visit Club Penguin and if you meet them they will give you an autographed background. Here are all the Special Penguins you might meet on Club Penguin:

Captain Rockhopper

Rockhopper is Club Penguin's pirate, he sails to Club Penguin every couple of months on board his boat the Migrator and always brings gifts!

The Penguin Band

The Penguin Band are a band who sometimes play at Club Penguin events, the band consists of Franky, G Billy, Petey K and Stompin Bob.

Gary the Gadget Guy

Gary is Club Penguin's inventor! He makes all the Club Penguin inventions that we take advantage of everyday. Gary also helps out secret agents when they are doing a mission.

DJ Cadence

Cadence is Club Penguin's DJ. She likes to hang out at Club Penguin parties and is the creator of the game Dance Contest. Cadence is one of the most popular Special Penguins.

Aunt Arctic

Aunt Arctic is the Club Penguin Times editor-in-chief. Every week she answers a questions in the newspaper. She has appeared in a secret mission and came to the Penguin Play Awards.

Sensei

Sensei is the builder of the Dojo, and creator of Card-Jitzu. Sensei spends most of his time watching over his students in the Dojo, but visits the Ninja Hideout sometimes to teach ninjas new moves

What's a Mini Game?

A mini game is a game that you can play on Club Penguin. You will earn coins depending on how well you do in the mini game. Most rooms have a mini game, and some mini games are multi-player so you can verse your friends! If you want to know cheats and tips to get the most coins out of a mini game click HERE.

Where are Mini Games?

Mini games can be found in most rooms. If you move your mouse around a room, a door might open or something might light up. If this happens you have probably found a mini game. Here is a list of where all the mini games can be found:

What's a Ninja?

A ninja is a penguin who has beat Sensei at Card-Jitsu. If you have ever versed Sensei you will know that he's a pretty tough opponent, so Ninjas are quite respected. Ninjas look just like nomal penguins, but sometimes you might see them wearing things that only Ninjas can buy, like the outfit in the picture.

Why Should I Become Ninja?

Ninjas have access to a special room called the Ninja Hideout that has a special ninja catalog where you can buy ninja items, some of these items are special and can make you turn invisible, the Ninja Hideout is also the only room where you can meet Sensei when he teaches ninjas new moves.

How Do I Become A Ninja?

To become a Ninja you will have to beat Sensei at Card-Jitsu, and you can only beat Sensei at his own game if you are a black belt. Every game you play of Card-Jitsu will get you closer to becoming a black belt, even if you lose! If you need help to master Card-Jitsu click HERE.

What's a Tour Guide?

If you're new to Club Penguin and need a bit of help getting around, there are a whole heap of penguins that would be happy to take you on a tour! These penguins are Tour Guides and when they're on duty they will be wearing a hat with a question mark, like the one in the picture.

Why Should I Become a Tour Guide?

Becoming a Tour Guide is a great way to help new penguins and make friends. You will be given a tour guide hat that many penguins wear as a fashion item, and at the beginning of each month Club penguin will pay you 250 coins!

How Do I become a Tour Guide?

If you are at least 45 days old you can become a Tour Guide! All you have to do is go to the Ski Village and click on the tour booth. You will then have to answer some questions about Club Penguin, here are some answers to questions you might be asked:

Rockhopper’s ship is called the Migrator
The pink puffle skips to play
The big fish in Ice Fishing is called Mullet
The Ski Lodge has a Cuckoo Clock
The pet shop has no music playing in the background
The Viking Helmet is always hidden in the clothing catalog

What's a Secret Agent?

Ever wondered who keeps villains from making Club Penguin an unhappy place? That would be the Penguin Secret Agency! The PSA employs penguins just like you as Secret Agents who are constantly working to keep Club Penguin safe. Whenever there's trouble on the island you can count on Secret Agents to be lining up to help out.

Why Should I Become a Secret Agent?

Secret Agents get paid 250 coins at the start of each month, have access to a special room called Head Quarters, get a spy phone to help them get around, get to do heaps of fun and challenging missions, have access to special Agent clothing items, and are the first to know about mysterious happenings in Club Penguin. Why wouldn't you want to be one?

How Do I Become a Secret Agent?

If you are at least 30 days old you can become a Secret Agent! All you have to do is click the 'M' badge in the top right corner of your screen and pick the responsible answers!

1) Honest
2) Being rude or mean
3) Report them
4) Saying their address
5) I want to keep club penguin safe
6) I want to help other penguins

Hidden Rooms in Club Penguin

Club Penguin has a few rooms that aren't always easy to find for the first time. Some rooms you mightn't be aware of are the Underground Rooms, Head Quarters, the Iceberg and the Ninja Hideout.

The Iceberg is a room where anything can happen. Being one of the plainest rooms in Club Penguin it has been used for parties, for hide and seek, and some penguins have even tried to tip it! The Iceberg also has it's very own Mini Game called Aqua Grabber. You can only get to the Iceberg by clicking on the clouds near the Cove on your map.

The Underground is a group of three rooms; the Boiler Room, the Cave and the Mine. There are three entrances to the Underground and each one leads to one of the different rooms. You can get to the Boiler Room by walking into one of the speakers in the Dance Club, the Cave can be reached through the man hole in the Plaza, and to get to the mine you just walk into the Mine Shack which can be found on your map.

Head Quarters, otherwise known as HQ, is a special room that you can only access if you are a Secret Agent. If you would like to know how to become a Secret Agent click HERE. Once you are an agent there are two ways to get to HQ. You can use your spy phone to teleport there, or you can go through the secret entrance in the Winter Sports shop:

The Ninja Hideout is a special room that you can only access if you are a Ninja. If you would like to know how to become a Ninja click HERE. The Ninja Hideout has Card-Jitsu mats for practicing your skills, and also has a special ninja catalog where you can buy exclusive ninja items. There is only one way to get into the hideout and that is through this little door in the Dojo Courtyard.
